Every transit subsystem connected into one platform, giving the control room the monitoring it needs to run the entire network.
The TAP OCC, Integration & Data Platform is the technology backbone of an integrated public transport operation. It provides the monitoring platforms used in the Operations Control Center (OCC), together with the APIs and databases that connect every transit subsystem into one platform.
Developed in-house by TAP on a modular, service-oriented architecture, the platform brings fare collection, scheduling, passenger information, fault management, asset management and field applications together under a single integration layer. Data from each subsystem is exchanged through open interfaces and consolidated in a central data platform.
For the control room, the result is one consistent operational picture of the entire network, from the status of individual field devices to the performance of every route.
Architecture
A Layered Architecture for an Integrated Operation
The platform is organized in four layers, from the field devices and subsystems at the edge of the network to the operator workstations in the control room.
Control Room
OCC monitoring platforms
A unified operator interface presenting the status of every connected subsystem, with monitoring areas allocated to individual workstations.
Data Platform
Central data repository
Operational data from every subsystem consolidated in integrated databases, providing a single source for monitoring, reporting and analysis.
Integration Layer
APIs, payment gateway and network monitoring
Open, standardized interfaces through which subsystems exchange data, supported by secure payment integration and monitoring of the communication network.
Subsystems & Field
TAP transit software and field devices
Fare collection, scheduling, passenger information, fault and asset management, and the validators, terminals, vehicles and displays they operate.
Operations Control Center
Monitoring Platforms for the Control Room
Control-room personnel work from one integrated environment, with real-time visibility of the operation across the entire network.
Unified Operator View
The status of every connected subsystem presented through one consistent operator interface.
Real-Time Situational Awareness
Live operational information from fare collection, fleet, passenger information and field devices in a single view.
Event and Fault Visibility
Communication and equipment faults identified centrally and passed to the Fault / SLA Management System for resolution.
Components
Four Core Platform Components
Each component addresses one part of integrating a multi-system transit operation: data exchange, data storage, payments and network health.
APIs
The standardized interfaces between subsystems and the central platform.
- Service-oriented interfaces

Built on Proven Integration Principles
The platform follows the architectural principles used in integrated control centers worldwide, adapted by TAP to the requirements of public transport operators.
Each subsystem keeps its own function, while the integration layer and central data platform give the operation one shared view of its data.
Key Benefits
An integrated foundation for the entire transit operation.
One Platform
Every subsystem connected under a single integration layer.
Connected Data
Consistent data shared across systems through open interfaces.
Control-Room Visibility
One operational picture for the OCC.
Network Oversight
The communication network monitored alongside the systems it connects.
Scalable
New subsystems and routes added as the network grows.
